Kim’s Testimony — How Faith and Family Transcend Fear

There is a local woman named Kim whose phenomenal story of faith in the face of fear has the power to help us all with our daily struggles. Kim’s niece, Steph, has beautifully written Kim’s story. Please read below for more details and the link to Kim’s Testimonial.

Hello, Genuflected followers.

My name is Steph Hogancamp, and Jenni has been gracious enough to allow me to guest blog on her site so that, together, we could share a very special and heartwarming testimony of faith with all of you. I believe we have all said (or heard it said) at one time or another that when we are confronted with hard times, when we are scared or worried, we need to have a faith that is bigger than our fears; there is no problem too big that our God can’t handle.

That is so easy to say when it’s others who have worries. Heck, it’s even easy for us to say in the not-so-good times of our own lives. However, to truly be faithful in the face of your worst fears is a challenge that most of us can only hope and pray we will be up to, if and when the time comes.

My aunt, Kim Smith, whom some of you know, was diagnosed with a brain tumor in July. The story we will share with you is one of unshakable faith in the face of unequivocal fear. Kim’s testimony shows what can happen to your outlook and your soul when you put your faith in God above all else.

Kim’s story, along with my commentary, will hopefully remind you that, no matter where you are on this journey of life, no matter what fear is staring you down, you are never, ever alone. It may seem you are stranded on the side of the road or lost in the middle of nowhere, but if you just take a deep breath and take a moment to look around you, you will see all the miracles that The Lord has set before you and realize that He is with you, always.

We don’t know which direction our lives will lead us from day to day. We are not the ones in control. One moment we are cruising along at 65, and the next moment a brick wall may stop us in our tracks and total what we thought was the perfect vehicle to get us to our destination.  So, how can we get back up and going after such an event or series of events happen? How can we start our engines back up and get back out on the road with twists and turns and potholes and brick walls? How can we have FAITH in the face of FEAR?

The answer is simple: Ask Him to come into your heart. When you do, when you allow God into your heart, you will receive the help you need. He is always by us and beside us, ready for us to move forward with Him on His path that he has paved for us.

“I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure, because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, nor will you let your faithful one see decay. You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.”  (Psalm‬ 16:8-11)‬

Kim’s story is heartfelt, genuine, faith-filled, and it shows just how many mountains God moves when we allow Him to work freely in our lives.   Thank you, in advance, for taking the time to read Kim’s story.  We pray you will share her story with those you know to spread God’s message of faith, hope, and most importantly, love.
